Buying a home battery on finance: how it works (UK)

You don't need to pay for a home battery up front. Every system on Battery Compare can be paid for monthly with £0 deposit, arranged by our installer Emerald Solar through Emerald Solar's finance partner. Finance is subject to status.

How it works

1. Choose your battery and tick 'I'm interested in finance' at checkout.

2. Emerald Solar sends you a link to apply online with Emerald Solar's finance partner.

3. You get a decision, usually quickly, and sign your agreement online.

4. Your battery is installed at the same fixed price. Monthly payments begin as set out in your agreement.

Who can apply

You'll usually need to be a UK homeowner aged 18 or over, with a UK bank account and a regular income. The lender will run a credit check. Finance is subject to status and not everyone will be accepted.

Does finance change the price?

No. The battery price is the same fixed, fully installed price whether you pay up front or monthly. Your agreement shows the total amount payable and any interest before you sign.

Can finance pay for itself?

A battery cuts your bill by storing cheap or solar electricity for the evening. On a good tariff, the monthly savings can cover a large share of the repayments. Use 'Explain the savings' on any battery to see an estimate for your home.

Can I pay it off early?

UK consumer credit agreements let you settle early. Your agreement explains how, and any early settlement terms.

Important

Battery Compare sells on behalf of Emerald Solar and does not lend money or give financial advice. Credit is provided by Emerald Solar's lending partners and is subject to status. Think carefully before taking on credit.
